About SYDNEY DESIGN 05

Sydney Design 05, 9th international design festival, previously known as Sydney Design Week, is one of the world's longest running design festivals. This year it has grown to over 50 exhibitions, events and talks in 24 venues, including Powerhouse Museum, Object Gallery, Art Gallery of New South Wales, Museum of Contemporary Art, Museum of Sydney, Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney Olympic Park and Australian Museum.
Design shapes almost every aspect of our daily lives, from the complex to the everyday, from the toothbrush you use to the car you drive or the latest in waterless state-of-the-art dishwashers. Sydney Design 05 aims to present a comprehensive program of events celebrating design in all its forms, from architecture walks around Sydney to debates on urban design, a behind-the-scenes look at some of our most successful industrial and product design studios and inspiring design exhibitions all over Sydney.
